Tupac Amaru Shakur was popular American singer, rapper and actor. He performed under the alias MC New York, 2Pac and Makaveli. He was written down in the Guinness Book of Records as the most successful hip-hop artist, who have sold more than 75 million albums (50 of them - in the U.S.).

Lesane Parish Crooks was born on June 16 1971 in the East Harlem, New York. The name “Tupac Amaru” he got after his baptism because of his godfather, Elmer "Geronimo" Pratt the leader of the "Black Panther", in honor of the last Inca leader Tupac Amaru II (which means Shining Serpent) who rebelled against Spaniards and was executed for this.

In 14 years Tupac went to Baltimore School for the Arts, where he studied for two years. Director of the theater department found him "very talented young actor". In the School of the Arts Tupac met many white guys and surprisingly found that he can get along with them. Before that he believed that "white are devils" as was assumed in the ghetto.

In 17 years he quit the school and family, left home and went to Marin City. Afeni argued that in Marvin City Tupac went the school of life. In the city he sold drugs and made friends with everyone in the area, becoming, in his own words, "walking fun" for all niggers.

But not all things were gloomy for the future star in the Marvin City. After the audition Tupac was accepted to the Digital Underground group, already well known by the time of his entering in it. With new vocalist the band toured the U.S. and Japan. The main program element was Tupac, dancing with a rubber woman.

In 1991 Tupac released his solo album "2Pacalypse Now", the singles from this album "Trapped" and "Brenda's Got A Bady" can be called one of the best works in contemporary rap music. Despite the fact that this black songs tell about the problems of the black ghettos inhabitants, the texts pathos are clear to any teenagers even if they don’t know English. As a member of the Digital Underground group Tupac shared the joy of Grammy for the track "Same Song" from the album "Songs Of The P” with his group partners.

Tupac's poetic talent revealed not only in the texts of his songs. He is the author of a poems book which has not yet published. The projected name is "2 Produce And Create". The theme of death and the need of building new society in which, according to Tupac, "we can educate ourselves" - the central theme of his poetry.

In 1992 Tupac moved to Los Angeles, California, released the second album “Strictly 4 My NIGGAZ” (in the creation of which involved Randy 'Stretch' Walker and Shock G with Money-B from Digital Underground). He poured into a criminal city life, has a criminal lifestyle, often got in prison but for a slight period.

In 1994 he created the group THUG LIFE. Except Tupac the group included his brother Mopreme «Komani» Shakur, Big Syke, Macadoshis and Rated R. They wrote the self-titled album. In November 1993 Tupac met with Jacques Agnant, his friend introduced 19-year-old girl Ayannoy Jackson to Tupac. A week later she accused Tupac of rape.

Through all life Tupac believed that he was framed by Jacques Agnant who probably was the FBI agent. On November 30, 1994, the day before making a decision on a rape charge Tupac, boyfriend of his sister and Stretch went to recording studio in Times Square, where they were invited by the rapper Lil 'Shawn for writing a joint track. In the foyer three unknown persons set pistols on them and required lie on the floor and give all values. Everybody lied down but Tupac remained to stand. He was shot down (5 bullets, one in the head) and beaten up. Attacked people removed gold jewelry and run away. Despite the injury Tupac found the strength to climb the second floor where were people whom he did not expect to see, including P. Diddy (Puff Daddy, now - P. Diddy) and the man with whom he has been close for a long period - Smollz Biggie (Biggie Smalls, or Notorious BIG). On the next day Tupac appeared in court in a wheelchair. In this day he was sentenced on charges of rape and was taken into custody pending a final verdict. On February 7, 1995 he was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of from 1.5 to 4.5 years.

In prison Tupac read a lot, made most of his tattoos and thought about shooting in November 1993. He concluded that the assassination was organized by his former friend and now bitter enemy The Notorious BIG. In April 1995 while being in prison he married Keisha Morris, after his release from prison he divorced.

In 1994 Tupac released a new album "Thug Life". After a year there was another one - "Me Against The World". The last had a huge commercial success measured by the number of copies in excess of 1 million, probably because it was the first and the only album created in prison. In October Tupac went to freedom on bail in 1.4 million dollars.

While Tupac was in jail he spent most of his savings to lawyers and compensation for various actions. When the head of the label Death Row-Marion "Shuja" Knight made a suggestion, Tupac could do nothing but accept disadvantageous conditions because of his family which were numbering about a dozen people. He was a sole breadwinner.

Under this contract, Death Row pledged collateral for Tupac and Tupac in return had to publish three albums with the label. In October 1995, after 10 months in prison, Tupac left on freedom and immediately began to record new songs. After couple of months, on February 13, 1996, came out the main Tupac’s creation and one of the best in rap history double album «All Eyez On Me » which received a nine-times platinum status.

During that time when Tupac spent on Death Row, his attitude changed dramatically. He became more irritable, inadequate, and even in relation to his friends. They started worrying about it. Finally, when Tupac realized this, he decided to release the last album (this album was released after his death, under the alias Makaveli, and had a double name «The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory») which went under the contract. Then he was going to leave with Death Row and found his own record label and movie studio (Tupac starred in several films).

On September 7, 1996 Tupac was at the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon. After the match Tupac went to his great friend Suge, part-time producer of Death Row Records. With him Tupac intended to celebrate Tyson’s victory in one of the clubs in Las Vegas. On the way to the party white Cadillac came up with their black BMW and unidentified people from white car opened fire. Tupac was wounded four times: twice in the chest, once in the shoulder and thigh. Suge was hit in the head not seriously, so he was able to deploy the car on 180 degrees and escape.

After a minute police stopped the holed in fourteen places BMW because of exceeding speed and saw bloodstained Tupac and called an ambulance. Several days Tupac was in critical condition. He underwent lung transplant but it did not save rapper’s life. At 16:03 he died. He was only 25. Tupak Amaru Shakur died on Friday 13 September. The murder hasn’t solved until now.
